Happy Thursday! Thursday-Thursday. Means the weekend’s almost here. Time to make plans!
I need to make amends to my kiddos this Saturday. I’ve been almost completely missing in action this week, and I’m going to be gone the entire first week in October, so I need to get some really good family time in. We’re not family just because I birthed them. Relationships have to be built and maintained.
Son – loves basketball. I don’t play basketball, but I can take him to the park for a game of pick-up ball and take pictures. Hopefully I’ll get something great to print and frame for him for Christmas.
My bonus daughter has been training for a 5k. I can help her sign up for the race and go for a run with her Saturday morning. (We run contra-rotating circles in a local park, we high five when we pass each other.) Maybe we can go to a Farmer’s Market after our run.
And then lunch together. Sitting at the same table. How are you? How was your week? I just love this salad, what do you think?
Husband needs some TLC for sure. Dinner out when kids are at the big school dance on Saturday. Hopefully some romance. Too personal? Sorry. This is life though, right?
Just as I set goals for work, I set goals for my family. Just as I make sure to touch base with and take care of all my important customers, I touch base with and take care of my family.
These relationships I work so hard to build and maintain also happen to be the very best thing in my life. Solid gold. Lucky me.
How about you, girl? How are you and the kiddos? If you are feeling a little far away, set up a let’s-go-do something for this weekend. Ban the electronics to the car. You know in your heart, and studies have proven, that where there are screens there is a barrier to getting closer to each other.
Pick up (or order from Amazon) a “Chat Pack” if you need ideas for what to talk about.
Go, Mamma. This is your life we’re talking about.
