Good morning, Mamma. Happy Wednesday! What are you grateful for today? Gratitude is so important. Colors our whole day. And our family’s day too, come to that.
I’m grateful for footie-jamas. And the way a toddler smells when they are snuggled up next to you, asleep. Bliss. Just heaven.
For Goodnight Moon. God, I love that book.
I’m grateful for Cheerios. And bananas. And grapes cut in half.
And sippy cups.
And the times my kids stood on a chair by the sink to “help” me do dishes.
I’m grateful for snow. And dirt. And leaves. And all the hours I was smart enough to get outside with my kids, even though the laundry wasn’t done. I’ve got another one heading off to college now, and I am acutely aware that I didn’t do this enough, and I am profoundly grateful that I did have some time outdoors playing with them. Get out, girl. Get out and play.
Grateful for pillows. And sheets. And blankets. And sleep. Lord I love sleep. There will come a day when I get enough of it. But when they’re not waking me up at night, they won’t be here anymore, and I’m not looking forward to that.
For our dogs. Even though they bring dead rabbits into the house. And throw-up randomly. And eat my peanut butter toast when I’m not looking. They are always happy and I’m grateful for that.
For enough money. Because we finally learned to spend wisely because things don’t make you happy and so it’s finally enough.
For this moment. I’m a mother. I’m a wife. I’m a worker and a woman and an athlete and a daughter. I am so very, very blessed.
How about you, Mamma? What are you grateful for? Look around and see how blessed you are. And give yourself a moment to feel it.
It feels good.
