She shared that her daughter became hooked on Meth after ONE hit. Meth led to heroin, which she is also now addicted to. Her first hit and she was gone, their lives changed forever.
My friend implored me to talk with my own teenagers about this, not to shield them from the danger or the ugliness of addiction, to educate them and, by doing so, try to protect them from this scourge.
And so, heartbroken for her, I share her plea with you.
Even if it’s uncomfortable to talk about, we absolutely must deal this demon the blow it deserves by educating and arming our children. FYI, her daughter got the majority of her drugs on Craig’s List. Make note, parents.
