So — taking care of yourself. I know, I know… you don’t want to hear it… you already know everything you should be doing, and there’s not time, or money, or the doughnuts just look too damn good. Believe me, I know the HELL of getting off sugar, I know it with the entirety of my being, girl.
But, here’s the deal. When it comes to our bodies, we pay the price now in the temporary pain of self-denial, or we pay the price later in lifestyle related health issues. Forget the way the swimsuit looks – I’m talking about cancers and auto-immune bullshit and trouble walking because your joints hurt. You are better than that.
My darling friend M lost 100 pounds over the last three years and changed the trajectory of her life. My husband did a 100 mile bike race this weekend, and the guy who won it was 57 years old. Google up ‘low-carb and diabetes’ and see how many people are changing their lives.
So much is possible. And you deserve it. You deserve to be healthy. You deserve to be your best self. Vibrant, strong, alive!
And you don’t have to do this alone! Google up a support group, join weight watchers, tell your husband you need his help and see if he’ll take over the grocery shopping to save you the torture of the bakery case. There is no shame in asking for help — there is wisdom.
